Community of Practice Groups

In the fall of 2020, MENTOR Virginia launched an initiative to bring mentoring programs across the state together to help each other adapt to the pandemic.

The initiative was so successful that MENTOR Virginia expanded the opportunity beyond the immediate concerns of the pandemic for program professionals to network and connect.

The mentoring groups are open to all youth mentoring program staff and volunteers. Group meetings are virtual and are designed to be flexible and responsive to each member’s needs as they arise and evolve. Members work together to co-create agendas.

We have two Community of Practice groups:

    School-Based Mentoring
    Working Group

This working group is designed for any mentoring programs that work in or with school districts to provide youth mentoring services.

    Community-Based Mentoring
    Working Group

This working group is designed for any mentoring programs that provide youth mentoring as part of a community-based organization.
