We are looking for young people between the ages of 15-18 who are interested in promoting change and raising awareness about issues impacting them and their peers in Virginia. The Youth Ambassadors for Mentoring (YAM) program is designed for young people eager to share valuable feedback and perspectives that can help improve youth mentoring programs and mentoring best practices.

This is an opportunity to acquire in-depth knowledge of mentoring programs, engage in advocacy events, and collaborate with other Ambassadors in meaningful projects. Participants must commit to: 

  • Actively engage in a 6-month program consisting of in-person convenings and virtual training
  • Participating in Advocacy Day in Washington, D.C. or at the State Capitol in Richmond, Va.
  • Collaborating in learning and leadership opportunities
  • Hosting a community forum (March 2027)
  • Attending all meetings (cohort will meet on the second Wednesday of each month, from 6:30-7:30 p.m.)
