SUMMARY:March Public Connect Focus Grow Training
DESCRIPTION:Register HERE\nThe Connect | Focus | Grow training was developed as part of the National Mentoring Project\, a pilot project  managed by MENTOR in partnership with the America’s Promise Alliance / Center for Promise and with support from the Schultz Family Foundation. The National Mentoring Project aims to expand the web of quality relationship supports and social capital that younger employees/mentees/interns need to develop the skills necessary to successfully navigate the workplace including securing and sustaining employment. \nUnderlying this training is MENTOR’s guiding vision\, which is that all younger employees\, mentees\, and interns have access to a web of support from  caring adults and can form empowering relationships that: \n\nPromote the pursuit of the younger employees/mentees/intern’s passions\, skills and interests\nEnable younger employees/mentees/interns access to and exploration of spaces where these can be pursued\nHelp younger employees/mentees/interns overcome personal and/or institutional obstacles\n\nThis vision is underpinned by the approach MENTOR uses to help adults and younger employees form relationships\, which is grounded in positive development and youth-centrism. This approach: \n\nRecognizes that young people are assets and experts about themselves and their communities\nSupports young people in identifying and building strengths\nBrings young people and adults together to work as equal partners as appropriate\nBuilds young people’s connections to their own identity\, culture and community helping them to see  their own social capital and supporting the extension of social capital through mentoring\nEngages young people as leaders on issues that matter to them\n\n\n\n\nRegister to attend!

SUMMARY:Champions of Mentoring
DESCRIPTION:For the third consecutive year\, MENTOR Virginia (MVA) will honor mentoring programs in Virginia at its Champions of Mentoring event. This event will reunite mentors\, mentees\, mentoring program coordinators/managers\, partners\, and our Board of Directors and staff in recognizing programs and organizations that embody the principles of building positive mentoring relationships. \nOur mission is to partner with youth mentoring programs to grow their impact because we believe that high-quality mentoring transforms lives and strengthens communities. As we advance our mission\, it is important to recognize those who have helped young people succeed in school\, meet their goals\, and prepare for their future careers. And this celebration is an opportunity for us to showcase successful mentoring stories and highlight the importance of supporting youth mentoring. \nThe 2025 Champions of Mentoring will spotlight mentors\, mentees\, and mentoring program staff who are passionate about creating meaningful opportunities for young people in Virginia. Click the button below to purchase your ticket today or to select a sponsorship level\, and come celebrate with us on October 23\, 2025\, at The Branch Museum of Design in Richmond. The event will start at 5:30 p.m. EST. The tickets to attend cost $75 each and sponsorship opportunities start at $500. We will have appetizers and drinks\, and all are encouraged to network. \nWe are aiming to raise $15\,000 and we would be grateful if you could help us reach it. By coming on board as one of our event sponsors or purchasing a ticket you will be able to help us continue to provide high-quality workplace and youth mentoring training to programs and organizations at low cost. \nRegister to attend!

SUMMARY:August Connect | Focus | Grow
DESCRIPTION:The Connect | Focus | Grow training was developed as part of the National Mentoring Project\, a pilot project  managed by MENTOR in partnership with the America’s Promise Alliance / Center for Promise and with support from the Schultz Family Foundation. This approach: \n\nRecognizes that young people are assets and experts about themselves and their communities\nSupports young people in identifying and building strengths\nBrings young people and adults together to work as equal partners as appropriate\nBuilds young people’s connections to their own identity\, culture and community helping them to see  their own social capital and supporting the extension of social capital through mentoring\nEngages young people as leaders on issues that matter to them\n\nRegister to attend!
